whenever my son has a bottle i burp him during and after.
i was just wondering, is there an age when you can let them just drink as much as they want without burping? if so, how do you know when you can do this?

lately my son has just been doing mostly little burps. and he hasnt been completely finishing his bottles, once i stop to burp him he then doesnt always want to drink the rest. i want him to get all the nutrients from his formula so was wondering if it would be ok to just let him drink the whole bottle if he wants it.

he is 6 months and has an 8 oz bottle 4-5 times a day plus 3 meals, he also throws up a lot although it is better now he is on a different formula, so i thought not burping durin might make him throw up lots after.

Gem ;-)

my twins are 8 months, and still need to be burped after every drink. "

" Harley takes a full 8oz with out burping in the middle. As soon as I set her up, even if she's sleeping, she'll burp and often times I'll hear her burp while she's playing. Then I'll say something like, ladies don't burp... she'll just laugh and laugh like it's the funniest thing.

Although she has a three year old brother, he lives with my mom, who thinks burping to gross people out is funny. So she kind of has an example to follow. "

" My little girl is 11 weeks. We have always had a problem with gas and burping. I have finally mastered her burping. I have to burp her after every ounce or do. She is now eating almost 5 ounces at a feeding. I've noticed when she is eating and doesn't seem to be sucking anymore out of the bottle, is when it is time to burp. She's a screamer and hates to burp but we just have to fight through the cries. My mom tells me that once they are able to sit up by themselves and hold the bottle they can burp theirselves. That is probably when he will be able to go through the whole bottle without burping. I guess anyways. Best of luck. "
