I often have these thougth or fears of bad things happening to my baby. Like some hurting him. I am able to control my emotions but I don't know how to stop the fearful thoughts that enter my head. I am just so scared of him being hurt in an accident or something. Don't misunder stand me I would never hurt my baby, I just fear accidents or someone else hurting him. I know that I am an overprotective mommy but who doesn't want to protect there little one from all possible pain. But why do I invision it? How do I get rid of those visions? Am I crazy?

" its called post partum anxiety. its a good idea to talk it out with your family doc and see if further treatment is warranted. but for sure i would see a counselor talk therapy either in a support group or one on one helps more than you would immagine... the support group especially as it helps to be reminded you are not alone. and its very hard to keep rehashing those feelings over and over in your head alone.

i belong to a post partum depression support group and most of the women there have this anxiety. its very common, in fact more people have post partum anxiety than the depression. but haveing these fears is enough to become depressed. along with the lack of sleep from having a young baby.... "

" I had the same things and worries and still to this day will worry about stupid stuff. I saw my doc and talk about have fears about my own mother watching my baby and also my husband. I felt that if I took my eyes of of her something would happen. needless to say I was given some medication that helped a lot and now i only worry half the time. Good luck and all I can say is do not be afraid to talk with the doc and do a lot of praying. "

" I'm going through the exact same thing. I am so scared of SIDS that it has made me an absolute maniac. It's all I think about all day long. I pray constantly and wake him up at least 50 times a night to make sure he's still breathing. Lately it has gotten so bad that I have made it so me & hubby sleep in shifts so somebody is always awake with the baby. I'm too scared for all of us to sleep at the same time. "
