they want to admit my 3 1/2 year old to the hospital to watch his breathing and his siezures...he's been really sick for a couple of weeks now, but we have been through this before...i mean they want to admitt him for a couple of weeks!!! thats a long time!!! i really just want him to be a kid for a while....what do you think??? any advise would help....and please know that this admission would be 2 hours from home and i have two other kids!!

Have you thought of a second opinion? Is there a way to have a nurse or a monitor at home where you can keep your son home and still get the information to the doctors that they are looking for?

This is a hard decision. Go with your gut instinct. I won't lead you astray.

And if your son does go into the hospital, if it's a children's hospital, they usually do fun things with the kids to help them forget why they are there. I know that doesn't change the fact. And at 3-1/2 they still don't fully understand.

Is there family/friends that can help out? Is there a place for family to stay at the hospital? "
