Parenting Preschoolers (3-5) Support Group

I don't want to say you're uptight....but, yeah maybe you are.

My dad was a heavy duty diesel mechanic and when he would get home from work, my mom would go to work, so it was just him, me and my sister. He would have one of us scratch his back or give him a quick neck/back rub since he was so sore from work.

Personally, I see it as being no different than having my 4 or 2yr old rub my feet....I take what I can get while I can get it. LOL

Do you have a concern that there is a problem?

my 5 yr. old and 3 yr. old and 12 yr. old rub their dad's neck and shoulders/. I have never thought twice about it. he drives a truck all week and his shoulders and back tend to be stiff and sore, they love making him feel better and I think of it has bonding time,

no way, not weird at all.. my four year old lil girl always scratches her daddys back... I can get her to scratch mine sometimes to, and of course she loves to get hers scratched as well...:)

its tough not to be uptight when you have suffered abuse hun, I have also suffered sexual abuse, and can relate to how your feeling.

I don't think its a big deal. Now my main thing is as long as the kid wants too do it cause my mom always made us scratch her back and I hated it cause she forced us! My kids put lotion on me sometimes and comb my hair...I love it but its always when they want to do it.
