My daughter is 3 weeks old today, and recently she has been spitting up a lot. She is feed breastmilk and formula through a bottle. She has been recently throwing up her entire feeding, and wanting another bottle afterwards. We burp her every 1/2 oz. Any ideas why she is doing this and what I can do to help?

" She may be allergic to the kind of formula you are giving her, or maybe allergic to milk. I'd say best thing to do is talk to your pediatrician. May be as easy as switching formula.
My baby boy is 9 weeks and still somedays he throws up his entire feed then wants more but its not all the time. I think he has only done it 2 or 3 times. But I'd say talk to your ped and see. "

" My daughter did this due to a protein allergy that she had. She was allergic to the formula due to the amount of protein in it. She also had reflux. In the beginning it was very difficult because I would always hear "Oh, you're a new mom..Babies spit up." Well, it was more than just spit up.

It was amazing that formula could shoot out of her like it did. She actually stopped breathing due to her Reflux. She had refluxed her formula and it blocked her airway. She was rushed to a children's hospital at 23days old and spent 3 days there.

They switched her formula to Enfamil Nutramagen and I had to add rice cereal to every bottle. If your daughter is spitting up alot I would definitely call the doctor. They may need to switch the formula or she could be allergic to your breast milk. You don't want your daughter to go backwards in weight because that can be very unhealthy for babies.

I hope this helps some. Good luck with everything! If you need anymore help feel free to contact me if you wish. "

" My daughter is bottle fed from one week old, and i have tomme tippee closer to nature bottles and one medela bottle that i got with the breast pump, with a different teat on, she used to throw up one entire bottle every day until i started to notice that she would only do this after she drank from the medela bottle because unlike the tommee tippee ones the milk comes out extra fast and she would finish the bottle off in 10 mins whereas with the other it would take her 20-25 mins, maybe the bottle is the problem? " It could also be something in your diet....my baby spits up and fusses and I have tried a few different formulas and think I found one I love (Similac Sensitive) but there is still fussiness and gass from time to time....all my girlfriends told me to cut out dairy for a week and really see if that makes a difference...maybe try that?
