" I just switched to cloth, I went with a Fuzzi Bunz package I found at clothkisses.com

I like pocket diapers best, you spend a little extra time in your cloth diaper routine because you have to stuff the liner back in, but that allows you to customize your absorbancy for naps/nightime. I hear good things about flats and fitted diapers but I think that adding an extra step with the cover might be too much for my BF.

As for your laundry routine it isnt too much extra work, you soak them do a hot wash and 1 or 2 rinses and you are done! I do reccomend Charlies Soap, which you will need to use for all your laundry. Most detergents leave a residue whuch will cause build-up and that causes leaks. I love charlies so much that it doesnt bother me much it leaves my clothes so soft and clean you dont need a fabriv softenor, Its so reasonable priced, it costs pennies per load. If you have any questions ask me, i love my Fuzzi bunz so much I wish everbody could use them!! Not only does cloth save the planet they are so cheap when you look at how much you'll save monthly. Plus there are no chemicals, I havent even had a diaper rash to deal with in months!

Congrats on the upcoming baby, soon it will be here! "

" Hi, I'm new but do have a tip. I work in a nursing home and one day a resident made a comment about how lazy moms were today, unruffle the feathers ladies.. this resident is 92 years old.

Anyway she said that she loved cloth diapers and she couldn't understand how a new mother couldn't take the time to use them as they were clearly better for baby.

She said that she used to soak her kids cloth diapers in a mixture of hot water, lemon juice and baking soda to keep them smelling nice and remove stains. Hope it helps.. and is safe because it was like 1920 something when she started having kids. "

" I bet lemon juice and baking soda would be an awesome soak! Isnt it crazy how all these miracle "cleaners" with there earth unfriendly toxic chemicals and spendy price tag when it comes to something that really cleans great its good old baking soda?!

gena1224- If only she could see how easy cloth diapers have become she think we were all real lazy for not using them lol "

" Oh I know it. I told one lady that there are diaper services now that will come pick up the dirties and deliver a batch of clean ones. She was AMAZED!

I've talked to some that swear by disposables though. One said that she never imagined diapering could be so easy until she bought a box of Pampers.

Mixing lemon juice and baking soda will clean your kitchen and bathroom like nobody's business too. Soap scum doesn't stand a chance againt it.

I use vinegar and baking soday in the toliet. Just dump it in, wait for the bubbling to stop, swish with the brush and flush. Super easy. Just don't use much because it will run over the sides. "

" I got diapers for my little one (not here quite yet) from www.jilliansdrawers.com

They have a great tutorial on care and different kinds of diapers. I ended up getting the kissaluvs newborns and prorap covers b/c that's what they recommended. I also have kissaluvs washables wipes (kind of smaller washcloths really) and baby bits soap to use along with them. I love this store and how in depth the info on the website goes. Good luck! "

" alot. especially with a newborn, but that really depends on how often you want to do laundry. I have 12 and am doing laundry everyday. With a newborn I would want at least 18-24 but would say 36 would be plenty. In those first few weeks I wouldnt want to have to add more loads to the laundry list lol. "
