i live in australia and right now the weather here is freezing i had my baby in december which is summertime ever since he has been born he has only been sick once but now he is sick again with the flu, i keep him warm i apply vicks vapour rub on his chest, back and on the feet i always give him a warm bath b4 bedtime and change him in the loungeroom where the heater is and i wrap him in a sheet then put his blanket on him i was wondering if a could put a heater in his room? his room is cold at night its not a heater that blows out heat its one of them ones that supply a bit of heat does anyone have any tips on how 2 make my little boy feel better asap???

" If it's flu then it will more than likely just have to run it's course. However, since your little guy is only a few months old you may want to check with your doc.

I don't see a problem with a heater in the room, we have ours on all the time. Were you told that you couldn't have the heat on his room? Just make sure that he doesn't get too hot, if it is comfortable to you then it will be for him as well.

Make sure that he gets lots of fluids (either check the ounces of formula he drinks or nurse often.)

Remembr that if the fever gets over 101 you should call the doc and don't give any meds without talking to the doc.

HTH and he should be getting better soon. Make sure that you get enough rest also because you are apt to have some long days with a sick little one.

" My little boy, Lucas as well, was born in December too. He got a terrible cold and I used a vaporizer and saline drops for his nose. Give him lost of love and talk with your doc if you are still unsure. "
