" I'm on Cortef; but it basically does the same thing. I also have a VERY HARD TIME losing weight. My Dr. always gets on my case about losing weight; so I asked him how I could lose weight when I'm on a Cortisone Therapy? He didn't have an answer. Good Luck. "

" I think we're stuck with the weight. I had cardiac cath with stent placement three years ago, having gained 30 pounds from my heart condition at that time. Since then, and having recently been diagnosed with Addison's and on Cortisol therapy (on other hormone meds too), I am the heaviest I have ever been in my life, and unable to diet it off, or exercise it off, (exercise inhibited by Addison's symptoms of profound exhaustion and weakness). My normal weight is 140 pounds. I weigh 170 and it's on me like superglue. I keep hoping things will turn around, but the more I learn about this condition, the less hopeful I am at getting the pounds off. I sure wish I had the answer. I know the extra weight is not a good thing, but am at a loss of what to do as well. Good luck Mandy. If you hear of anything helpful please do post it.

" I'm on Cortef and I have not been able to maintain a certain weight. Actually I have been losing and then gaining. I'm in the move program, and because I have now developed diabetes, I have to eat right. I was 166lbs before Addison's diagnosis, and now I weigh 230lbs. "
