My doctor told me he wants me to take cortef for my low blood pressure and low weight too. So, I assume for three months that I been on cortef but come to find out today I have not been here is why: I thought florinef was a generic name for cortef but I found out today it is not a generic name brand but a whole different medicine. I am confused of what I am suppose to do about this. I am not certain if the doc is wanting me on florinef or cortef. The florinef is not helping my low blood pressure or my weight right now; I am on the third month taking it. So, question is that is Florinef the same as Cortef or is there a goof up on the pharmacy or doctor? Thanks for advice ahead of time. Tim

" I am on both Hydrocortisone (cortef) and Fludrocortisone (florinef). They are both steroids and from what my doctor says the Fludrocortisone is to help with my low blood pressure. I would check back with your doctor. Billie "
