It could be really interesting to follow one anothers IGF-1 levels. As everyone probably knows IGF-1 varies by sex and age but it still could be interesting. It would also be interesting to know what your peak IGF-1 has been.
My current IGF-1 is 269. Normal range for me would be(male, 32 years) between 90-350 according to swedish medical care. Preoperatively it was on 900(on Sandostatin LAR 30mg)! After surgery it went down to between 373 and 413. Somatuline autogel 90 mg now keeps me in normal range. No detectable tumour left. Posted on 06/13/08, 07:06 am |

It is my understanding that one needs to montior both IGF-1 and oral suppression GH test...
I have this info way back somewhere in my journal but at the time of diagnosis it was over 800 it dropped down to the noraml range once 5 months after surgery They checked it every month until April...then she wanted to wait 3 months..howevere my April rate was high 280 normal has to be under 250 for me I think I can't recall off the top of my head anyway I am 49 Female...we are waiting to decide about meds etc...

I'm on Octreotide injections .5ml, 3 per day. My IGF-1 has dropped from 385 to 284 in the past month. My insurance won't approve the LAR monthly injection but will approve the 3 per day Octreotide because it's generic. Does any one know of a generic Sandostatin LAR?
Oh, my normal IGF-1 would be under 249 for my age.
