Hello. I am Alexandria and i am a sophomore at Williams Field High School in Gilbert, Arizona. I am very sorry to bother everyone, but i would appreciate it if anyone could answer a few questions for me.I am doing a report on Acromegaly and was wondering if someone could give me more personal information on the subject.

1. What causes Acromegaly? How does a person get the disease?
2. What research is currently being done to fight Acromegaly?
3. How is the disease currently being treated?
4. How many people get Acromegaly and at what age do people normally show signs?
5. How well can a person carry on normal daily activities?
6. Are there any drugs or medications for people to help them cope with Acromegaly?
7. What are the most common characteristics of Acromegaly?
8. Do males and females show different symptoms?
9. How close are groups to a cure for Acromegaly?
10. Are there different severity levels of the disease? If so, what are they?

" It's not that I wont research the subject, I already know the answers to many of those questions. Our teacher asked us to get an interview with those questions from someone who either had the disease or knew someone with the disesse. I thought that joining a support group would be a good way to talk to someone with the disease or who knows personaly of it. Thank you for your time. "

" Hi Alexandria, I have three kids, so I will answer one of your question. They don't know for sure what causes acromegaly, they think it is probably caused from a mutant gene, DNA studies are currently being done to see if we all have something in common. Try the PNA website and the Mayo clinic site. Good Luck. "
