I am in a vile mood and wanted to vent a few things that people have said to me after my accident - they meant well, but sometimes it just rubs me the wrong way!
1) You are so LUCKY! ------ UMMMMMMM no I'm not, I got rammed by a freakin car! 2) Your boyfriend is so wonderful for standing by your side through all of this. ------ This one KILLS me. Its like complimenting a child for keeping that toy even though its broken and still playing with it. Does that mean I am less lovable? 3) At least you are going to get a ton of money from suing him. -------- what???? I wouldn't give up my legs for what seems like a lot of money but by the time you get it and the lawyers take their part, the hospitals and doctors take their part, you are left with virtually nothing. anyone else have any good ones? - Yeah, like it was worth all of the pain I still feel 2.5 years later. Never mind I had to ditch the old car for a new one with high payments!

I am grateful to be alive. . .people try to say the right thing, they just don't know. I try to be polite, bite my tongue and smile.
Sometimes I will say something, but if they don't get it, it doesn't matter what you say. I just focus on my recovery. I can sit around and let other people get me down, or not. Some days are harder than others, but most are good, because I have a SECOND CHANCE to do it right- or better!
