Dr. Lee is scheduling muscle transplant surgery for my left arm. The muscle will be taken from my right leg. It is a 12 - 16 hour procedure. I will be in the hospital 5 - 7 days. Recovery is about 12 weeks. Three months after the surgery we do it all over again. It is a two muscle procedure. He wants me to have the DBS (Deep Brain Surgery) first.

Has anyone had either of these procedures?

The muscle transfer is mt last chance before amputation.

" Thank you for your good wishes. Dr. Lee has scheduled the first muscle transplant on Oct 7th. I expect to have the DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) prior to that. I see Dr Eskender Monday. I hope he schedules DBS as soon as possible. I'll take Tuesday if I can get it. Doubt that will happen. Doing good though. I'm glad things are in motion to try to do something to improve my quality of life.
