Well.. the title says it all. Anyone (males???) here b/c they made a commitment to God?

But it is difficult! This area has f***ed up a lot of things in my life. It is a HUGE problem. It has led to problems in masturbation etc. It has led to problems on dwelling in fantasies... problem with no concentration and other problems.

Problems with me being "sexually repressed." Problem with me blaming God for this situation. Problems with me not being satisfied with my spiritual path or my earthly life! Help! Also problem with my parents and friends and other people wondering why I don't do it... It's really annoying!

So yeah. Any guy here the same boat as I am? I can support you as well! I may have problems but I am really good at giving advice.

" Well, I'm abstaining for primarily religious reasons...but I'm not male. : ) Anyway, know that there are other guys out there who are abstaining for religious reasons (my fiance' and I are both in our mid-30s and still virgins). Yes, it is VERY difficult...but also worth it. Do you try finding other things to do (for example, working out) when you have trouble with fantasies, concentration, etc.? "

" Wow sounds like what I have been through. Ya I have done all those things and in many ways it made it hard for me to be social because I would get uncomfortable when guys would talk about it and I wouldn't have anything to say. I made a commitment to god and in many ways I view it as If I'm willing to wait and learn prepairing for my future wife then it will be all that more amazing when I meet the right person. "

" Ya I think being open knowing what you like and finding out more about the opposite sex and what they like really helped me to not feel so "sexually repressed". Also I think there is nothing wrong with a healthy sexual appatiet it's only part of being human. Plus releasing some sexualy energey helps prevent you from giving in when your around peer pressure. " i think it takes a real man to abstain from sex for religious reasons. if anyone gives you crap i think its because they know that not even THEY could do what you're doing. "

" well everyone "accepts" me for it. It's not that.. it's more like...

1. sometimes i really don't want to abstain... it's a self control issue

2. i feel like i'm missing out

3. i get pissed off when people (including parents and other unlikely sources) tell me to "get laid" (or something along those lines) for the billionth time "

i hate that. last valentines day my boss kept making remarks like he thought i was going to get laid. i guess normal guys would. kind of bugged me cause i didnt want to correct him and tell him no, im going to waste a perfectly good holiday... when i bought my bowflex and was selling my king size bed, everybody asked me if i fucked on it. when i bought my twin mattress, and i told the guy i didnt have a bed frame and was looking, he asked me if it was to keep the bed from squeaking. i was just like... sure. *wink* "
