I am abstenant because I hate sex.

Because I don't have a companion at the moment. Though that could change when She Who Wants Me steps inside. I shy away from sex for sex's sake. Means nuthin unless it's with someone special I think.

I'm abstinent mainly because I want to focus on the important things in life like education. I want to work on myself as a person. I've learned that sexual relationships and even romantic relationships causes stress and pain which will distract me from my goals.

I was celibate for 1 1/2 years before my ex bf, and celebate 1 year before that when I had a one night stand with someone who I realized was inappropriate for me (in a relationship, not in love).

My ex bf seemed to use me for sex. We were off and on and I was celebate months at a time during our absense.

After 7 months without him, I am still celebate, thank God. I don't want to get into a situation with someone who I don't know well enough, which I did plenty of before I got clean and sober.

I don't want to get into another abusive relationship where the sex is the hook. I don't want to have casual sex with someone with whom there is no love or intimacy.

I met someone I hardly know and I'm projecting romantic feelings onto him. I do this with people who are not appropriate for me. He is one who is inappropriate for me.

I want to have a healthy relationship if I am in a sexual relationship, and I don't have a good record in that department.

I'm proud of myself for waiting.

I'm celibate because I'm tired of letting my hormones pick unlovable men for me. I want to experience what it is like to fall in love without the casualness of sex.
I must admit it does get hard at times but I just think back to the relationships that were not bound to go any further than the bedroom. I want more than that.

I'm abstinent because I'm sick and tired of the reputations I have around school and I've decided that I'm saving myself for someone I love. My mom waited until she was 22 and engaged. My aunt waited for marriage. My best friend lost it when he was 13, and I didn't want to be that person. I know sex is something special between people and though I have been in the position to give away my virginity, I decided not to because I didn't really love him. Besides, there's always the risk of pregnancy, and if I did get pregnant, I'd want to make sure it was from someone I love, not someone I used for sex.
