i've been abstinent my whole life..Im only 16...but like everyday guys ask why I never want to have sex and if not guys, girls say wow you really need to get laid..Do I? Sex seems like a pretty important thing in a lot of peoples lives. Why is it so important?! Sex is important but for me its not going to be important until after marriage. and I just wish that one day I could find a guy that believes this just as much as I do

I am with you on this I take the same heat. I am a guy though, 17 years old almost 18. I am still a virgin and would like to wait until marriage. But then again with me I was a sexual abuse victim and that plays a huge part in it for me.

You do not need to get laid. You are still just in high school (I'm guessing)!! You can find guys who believe in this, they are rare and important creatures though. I am still looking for mine however I do know several personally so don't dispair.

What if your partner is terrible at sex what if your sex life is a nightmare. So many marriages in 30s were ruined by this.

marriage should never be based on sex. marriage is something people do because they love each other. and if my future"partner" sucks at sex then i'll live with that because he's obviosley someone i love. and i dont care about just "sex"

i haven't quite 'come out' (to my friend who isn't a Christian) as being abstinent. i'm a Christian, i think that would be enough of a signal that i don't want to have sex. i wonder what she'd say....when i told her i didn't drink she told me sister "oh give it a few years she'll be drinking"
i'm not like everyone else and i don't intend to be! i have a Christian bf and thank goodness we both believe in the same things

You will find that man. I am 47 and have been around the block many times. Back when I was your age if you wern't having sex you wern't "Cool" Stay strong to your values. Know that sex is more than "Slam, Bam, Thank You Mam!" It means more than that to you and you will be happy you waited. Don't give in to the many that have that are now unwed mothers with not even a man that can support you or the child. Your a great kid!

Why should sex be simple? People these days don't want to have to work at anything let alone something as idealized as sex. It (according to my mother who is just as moral as I am) takes practice patience and willingness to listen. So the truth is we all know when chemistry works just if someone walks by (I'm abstinent I'm not dead btw.) but chemistry is not everything. Thats why we take time to get to know eachother develop bonds and friendship before we commit to marry and then get married. This process is affords us enough time to discover if the individual has the qualities it will take to be a good lover and life partner. If "bad sex" is ruining the marriage its a character flaw not a sex flaw.

lonely sweetheart, you will find a guys to be respecting a lot more easily than you think. you are young and a lot of the guys at this age are pretty immature... unfortunately, same goes for college kids. you don't need to have sex to be respected by them at all. in fact, its kind of the opposite. you can still have fun and party and be well-liked in high school without having sex. i didn't fuck around and i had a great time in school... i was focused on my hopes and dreams (with some partying on the side ;))
people tell me I need to get laid all the time and guys do some of the most ridiculous things try and make me "interested"- i don't like giving in...i wold feel weak. i guess its a pride thing; i want some one to earn "it"... i don't see how getting laid would improve my lifestyle... plus, I'd feel gross afterwards...i mean, what did he do to deserve it? ;) I've always had this negative attitude about giving guys pleasure... I feel like way too many people in this world are just too "easy". they respect me the way i am, anyway. i can be friends with them a lot more than some other girls... i was even able to live in a frat house once, and despite all the rumors, me and these guys developed a pretty close relationship with nothing physical going on. men aren't as piggish as people make them seem on TV and stuff- i feel like too many women acting like whores doesn't help :( i feel like people brag about their sexual adventures like they have nothing better to do. its pretty sad. sex is just part of our nature... why does it run peoples' lives?
