i COMPLETELY agree! I am in highschool now and it is completely normal to have sex with someone different every weekend. It's weird if you aren't. Its never meant to be special anymore which is a shame. And in highschool if you tell someone you want to have "romantic" sex with candles, you are SO weird! Our whole society portrays it as something casual, tv shows, celebritys etc.

i know, i'm in high school and i can't stand how everyone is like that! i've never had a bf before and it's probably b/c i don't like the way society is handling sex and i want to remain abstinent. it's a shame that everyone is like this really, especially since they're just messing up their lives.

I am a 17 yr old who has not been a christain all of my life...yes i have believed in God and Jesus, but i never knew anything about my faith. Any way, i have though, always had that sense to want to wait for amrraige, and i will admit that i sadly would have not waited in some point in my life. I began to notice though, that i couldn't. it's a long story how i came to christ, but to this day i never want to fall back to the way of thinking all of you have prtrayed here..my highschool is in the stae of illionos and my county here has the 2nd highest pregnancy rate next to Cook county, which is all of Chicago and surrounding..so thatis tramendous. Every year i come to school to see more girls pregnant and to here more stories "from friday night" and i am seriously sick...it makes me want to throw up!! I haven't had a boyfriend either, and i have always thought it has been my fault, but everday i ask God for the strength to notice that i do NOT need to live the way all the other kids around are, so i don't need a "boyfrind" right now, unless a true christian comes.
i thank you all for the comments!! i have felt for the longest time to be the only around me to feel this way. Yuo have given me hope!!! Michelle

I have wanted for SO LONG to create a strong society of my own, one with all the people who want to stay abstinent. I want to create a strong group of people who openly and outwardly advertise that their body is NOT FOR SALE! I want to create a big enough group of people who can make it look glamerous and cool enough to make it a trend. Right now, sex with anyone is a trend. Sex is just like shaking hands (even though it really isn't, that's the way it's viewed). I want SO BADLY! to make it a trend to be abstinent and make that cool in the eyes of mainstream society. How great would that be?? Anyone who wants to start that, MESSAGE ME!!! :)
PS - runnrgirl, I'm totally with you. I'm the same way. I always thought I'd be abstinent until marriage, but after watching Friends and shows like that, I began to realize that I could actually see myself having sex before marriage if I "really loved the person." But as soon as I became a Christian, my morals went way up and I very avidly became abstinent. Now, I'm a month and a half away from marrying a man who is abstinent as well (we are both virgins) and let me tell you, it was well worth it!

I agree. People these days have no self respect. Sex is viewed something cool and if your not doing it then your uncool. People are so sex crazed these days. It seems there are no decent people left out there. Im still a virgin and I am not gonna give in. People can call me a prude or any other names for not having sex, but thats fine with me. Id rather be a prude than end up with some disease. If I ever do have sex it will be after I marry.

I been out of school for along time and kids are more open about sex now then back in the 80's. I have two kids 13 yr. old daughter and 17 yr old son. My husband and I tell the kids that have a relationship and getting to know the person, there good and bad things will help you when you get married. Wait on sex if you don't you will be comparing the person with the other you have done it with.
The once how wait and get to know the person that they truly know and love will have a better marriage. So I'm pround on you that wait and don't let the presure of other control you.

I think the only way we can change society is to be different. It is nice to see people that are. I am so excited about having sex in the future. I am twenty and I still know that waiting is the best thing. I only want to have sex when I can honestly look at the other person and be okay with having their children. So to you high-schoolers way to go and I know it is going to be so special.
