My patients frequently find tests online and ask me about them...
A word about the self report measures some adults find online and take for AD/HD
The 4 most commonly used self report measures (screening tests) for Adult AD/HD are
1) The Wender rating scale
2) The Copeland symptom checklist
3) the Conners adult AD/HD scale
4) the Brown scale
There are a growing number of brief self-administered screens including the WHO Adult Self-report scale.
These are reasonable screening tools but should NOT be used for diagnostic purposes. The 25 item Wender rating scale misclassifies about 40% of non AD/HD adults as having the disorder.
If you do take a screening test and think you have AD/HD see a doctor for additional evaluation...
