ADD/ADHD--the difference IS those with ADHD are Hyperactive, whereas the ADD isn't??? Is that Right? Basically????

Impulsiveness & Jobs: Any Suggestions on Jobs that Fit the ADD/ADHD personality?? What if one has chosen a Field of Helping others??? What if one loves the Field but has a HARD time being Patient with the kids?? or is a Nurse and has a HARD time being Patient with the patients??
Would Medication, Meditation, establishing a ROUTINE--would any of those help, or would it just be better to move on and try something else???

(in wee morning hours, searched thru ALL the Discussions, and didn't see any topics that addressed these--PLUS, was posed the question myself) Also, the book recommended--Good for ADHD People???

" Basically yes adhd is hyper, actually add without the h are usually people who are underactive. A good job for helping people would be one where you could help without having to go to long meetings, or have a lot of paperwork. Medication or some other treatment would help in any career that is chosen. "

" ADHD is the hyperactive subtype and is more common in males than females, but can occur in both. ADD is the primarily inatentive subtype. (in other words, the space cadet daydreamer types)
I have ADD and one of the things my medicine helps me out with the most is working. I have found it to help in all of the jobs I have held since on it, and it definately helps me to consider my reactions to others before I spit them out, so I think it could definately help you be patient with kids. I kinda lets me step back a moment if I get upset instead of blurting mean things out. "
