Of all my disorders, my ADD is the one I least understand and the one that has been treated the least. As a matter of fact, I haven't been on ritalin in several months due to a change in doctor. (I had to go through testing in order to get back on it and that hasn't happened yet.)
I have some other things going on too(you can read my journals if necessary.), but I'm wondering if what I'm experiencing is because of my ADD.

In a nutshell, I feel lost. I stand in the middle of the house, surrounded by chores and I freeze. It like my brain shuts off. Nobody is home and I'm not even sure many of the lights are on. Does anyone else go through this?

" Get the testing and get back on meds. I just now began therapy and meds. for my ADHD and I wish I had done it a long time ago. I have never felt more focused, patient, or better equiped to handle the day in and day out necessities or even a crisis than now! I no longer feel overwhelmed and all this allows me to be able to take a moment to appreciate the tiny things where as before I was too wound up tight to do so. Hugs, lylajean "

" I too can find myself just standing in a room thinking nothing. I wander a lot when I Can'tstay with a project. I esecially find myself at a window looking out at nothing. I'm not on specific meds for ADHD. I just started Omega 3 fish oil with a 'maybe' from my doc.
Good luck! "

" Thank you all for you replies. I just want to clarify something. I did have the testing done but I haven't been back yet to see my psychiatrist (someone else did the testing). It's a long story. But, now that I have actual test results that give me a diagnosis, I'll be able to get back on hopefully ritalin because that worked for me before. An MD diagnosed before based on converstaions and a short survey, but after she left no one wanted to prescribe me the ritalin and they were focused on other problems. I can't wait to get back on the ritalin.

It's nice to know that I'm not alone and liberating to kknow that what I'm experienced is from my ADD/ADHD. Maybe now I won't be so hard on myself. "

" Yeah, I struggle with that, too, especially at the end of a busy workday. It's like my mind needs a lot of time to just shut down and regroup--or something like that. Actually, in my mind I can be frustrated with myself, saying to myself "What's wrong with you? Get the lead out already!" "
