Just wanted to let everyone know that "the new August issue of Guideposts magazine features a cover story by host and head carpenter on ABC-TV's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Ty Pennington.
He reveals what it was like to grow up an ADHD kid before anyone new how to diagnose it. In and out of trouble, the principal's office, emergency rooms and his mother's hair for most of his childhood he struggled to find if there was some plan for how he could fit in. It was a revelation to discover he had an aptitude with tools and a talent for building - things that don't exactly show up on an SAT test - but convinced Ty even though he was different that he had the skills to succeed.
