My son is starting 5 mgs of adderall. He is 5 years old.
I am terified about reactions. Anxiety, sleeplessness, ect. If there is a drastic change in him I am worried that it will freak me out. Should I be scared? The reason I am so freaked out is because I know of kids that have abused these types of drugs. Also, because I myself have taken drugs that intially caused an increase in anxeity and sleeplessness (effexor). I am worried that he will feel like that. and how will I help him if he does? I'd wait to se how it will affect him first. Everybody has different reactions and benafits from any type of meds. I'm on Strettera, and I works great with me. I have also has a very bad reaction from medication as well. If you start to see a negitive reaction Take the steps to get him off of it. If your worried about him abusing it keep track of the medication. He might not abuse it. It will be his way of earning your trust.
