" Hi jhans97,
Times have certainly changed for the good. I'm pleased you were diagnosed early.

When I went to school the cane was my treatment.

Social interaction was a nightmare.

This is a safe place to talk about AD/HD but the general public are not so understanding.

My suggestion is to keep you're disorder private and seek treatment to improve social skills.

All the best "

" A close freind who used to be in the medical feild diagnosed me. I went for official testing and confermed her diagnos. I was in my adult years already so it was a bit easyier to deal with. It did explain alot through out the years though. School was hard in many ways and interacting with people was difficult to say the least. Hang in there. This group is so we can open up about it.
There are so many natural remedies to help and some medications are worth tring. I'm on Strettera. It's a non-stimulant and works great on me. I hope you have an understanding dr. God bless!! "

" I never got properly diagnosed--just read up on ADD/ADHD and did some self-tests. I am doing well enough in my life dealing with it that I don't see where I need meds. I do want to eat healthier food--I know I eat too much sugar. I believe that will help my symptoms. "
