ADHD / ADD Support Group

Hello everyone. I have a 7 yr old son who was just put on Focalin XR for his ADHD. On the bottle it has a warning sign that tells you that it might cause headches. Well about two weeks taking this medicine my son woke up one morning running a feaver of 102.5. I gave him some tylanol for the feaver. About an hour later his feaver was gone but he started to cry. I ask him what was wrong and he told me that his head and neck hurt really bad. So I told him to lye down on the couch and relax a bit. I called the doctor that prescribed him that medicine. I told him what was going on and he told me that it would subside. So I went and got my son some water to drink and his head and neck hurt so much he couldn't get up off the pillow to drink. It hurt him that bad. I called the doctor again and he told me to take him to the emergency room. So I did. They couldn't find anything wrong with him. They told me to take him off that medicine and when I did he didn't have head or neck pain sense. I took him back to the doctors and the doctor told me that sense it was summer time that he doesn't need to be on anything. I went along with it. Now that it has been a month gone by I am starting to think he really needs to be on something. I need some help to what to do. He was on Concerta 18 mg then he put him on Focalin and that didn't work. I am scared to try him on something else. I don't know how he will react to it. Help please?
