Calming effect?

I recently started taking Focalin, had some improvements but they were inconsistant so the doc upped my dose. I noticed on the higher dose my anxiety level is dropping and it almost seems to have a calming effect. Is this to be expected? this is just all so new to me.

" personally i have never taken any drugs whatsoever for my ADHD but i am now taking my GCSE's a year early and predicted A's. i think the one thing that has helped me is music. i would tay away from any rap or anything like that. more old style rock like metalica.. this helped me ever since i was 10 "

" Sometimes you have to fish around for meds that work for you and your body. Talk to your doctor of psychiatrist that distribute your medicine and try a different treatment plan. "

" I tried just about every med out there over a 13-year period....and had only limited results. Cylert worked the best for me, but when it stops working, it actually makes the ADD worse, at least while you take it, so it is important to be alert to this strange backlash.....The thing that I noticed is that when I could ramp down the ADD, the Anxiety and Depression also ramped down. They are connected at the hips. If you can wound one, the other two weaken as well. It is a very strange triangulation that I don't think even the docs understand.... "
