Has anybody with adult adhd inattentive type had any success with natural supplements?
I am getting too sensitive to Provigil, just as I did with several other adhd meds like Strattera. I just can't tolerate any allotropic meds. I need some natural brain chemicals.
Please folks help me out here. I'm looking for any suggestions.
What should I try that YOU have tried or somebody YOU KNOW has tried?

" Hello,
We have tried many things. We have had minerals and vitamins checked and have low to no vit. D. My son was low in lithium. We also had food allergies. The Fiengold Diet.org has helped may people have relief. But I must say that it is very difficult to follow.
A naturalpathic doctor is usually covered for some visits. They are usually good at helping with drug replacement. If you can I'd go to a professional. If you live in Washington I could recommend someone who specializes in it and does medical research on the subject. Good Luck!!
Susan "

" I have been into natural remedies for many years. There have been several things that have helped me. Taking 1mg of melatonin as you plan to go to bed helps, Any night time tea or herbal tea works great too. Lavender, rose, basil essential work great. I keep a spray bottle of lavender and rose oil diluted in water by my bed. Herbs like lavender, passionflower, rose peddles, and many others calm the mind and body down. Valarian works on most people, but not on me. Meditation, imagery and music is good, Indian flutes is what works for me. You can use any kind of music that relaxes you. Color plays a big role as well. My bed room is primarly blue. Blue is a relaxent and a healing color. find a color that relaxes you. Changing the way you eat helps too. I have to stay away from sugar(most of the time, lol) or I'll be bouncing off the walls. Caffeine dose the same thing. I take a B-12 supplament seeing as I don't eat meat. B-12 is vital for the body to cope with stress and helps with ADHD. There are hundreds of remedies worth exploring. I tried crystal therapy but it took too much of my energy. Acupuncture didn't work on me but it might on you. Acupressure works some what. Yoga befor bed is great. It relaxes the mind. If you are willing to try yoga start with a beggining class or dvd. Each natural remedie works different on every body...just like any other medication. It's worth tring once or twice with an open mind. What works the best for me...is my faith. God has seen me through some very overwelming days. "

" I saw on your profile that you deal with pain. White willow bark works on pain, and is great fore people who are sencitive to aspirin. Do not take it with aspirin. Aspirin is a synthetic product of white willow bark, just chemicalized. "

" I haven't found any natural meds to help with my ADD which is pretty bad. I have tried some of the meds for ADD and they make me anxious. But for the last 8 months I've been on a new drug called Vyvanse. It has changed my life. No side effects, no rushed up feeling and it last for 12 hours. All i feel is clarity of mind.

I also take Omega 3 Fish Oil and vitamins. "
