My name is Christine. I am a mother of 3 and a Navy wife. My husband is gone alot, and my family just moved to Washington. I have a 3 year old that is having alot of problems but has always had them even when he was born. I kid you not when I say that he walked out of my belly angry! He started crying and has yet to stop. He is constantly screaming, or having outbursts. He gets horribly violent with me, my other kids and the dogs. He can't seem to focus long enough to even color a picture. Then he canges, he is sweet, kind, compashionate, and loving. I feel like its dr. jekel and mr. hyde. We have been going to doctors since he was 2 and they just told us to wait it out. Over the past 3 months it has gotten severe. We took him to the doctors 2 weeks ago and he said that we needed to immediantly get him into a speciaist. He even got a social worker going that day since my 3 year old is getting violent. Well I just found out that the specialist can't see us until September. My son's "rages" are 10x's worse when my husband is on deployment and today I caught him trying to strangle his 1 year old brother. he said that it was because the 1 year old took his car. I have already had 3 episodes this month where I break down and can't stop crying. I feel like a horrible mother and to make it worse I don't know what else to do. He doesn't go to day care, we can't afford that and I am at a loss. I have tried everything I can think of and everything that people have sugessted to me. I don't know what else to do. I need more help than I am getting. I don't want him to fall between the cracks, but I know that this can't continue. What did I do wrong?

" Chrissy, I am no expert but I am sure you did not do anything WRONG. I would call the specialist back and INSIST on seeing him sooner or have him recommend someone who can see you... It sounds chemical not behavioral.

I would also suggest a quick lesson on meditation, if you dont already...

I do feel for your situation... I hope your husband support you the best he can... "

" I would consider having a full panel food test done. He may not have allergies but for him common foods can cause irritation. It can cause body inflammation even in the brain and he feels terrible so he acts terrible. A good lab is US Biotek Laboratories and the test is Standard Food Panel: IgG/IgE
My daughter seems like she has had a stroke for 2 days after eating pineapple. And then it would clear up. But we never put it togethor unitl this test. My neighbor had it done on her 2 year old and discovered that wheat was an irritant. Within 24 hours of removing wheat products he was at peace for the first time since birth. It is a very safe simple blood test that could change both of your lives. "

" My recomendation for you is to get him to the specialist ASAP! It looks like he is going to need some meds to calm him down, I know every parent doesn't want their kids on meds but when it is this serious you just need to try them, you might see a big difference, I know we did. "

" Hi Christine,

Unfortunately, doctors are sometimes just too caught up in their daily lives to realize when something serious is going on and you have to be the advocate for yourself or your child and insist they do everything possible to find out what is wrong. You KNOW something is wrong and it just can't go on like this. Your child needs help, and so do you. I can only imagine how overwhelming and upsetting this must be for you.

I would suggest you call a different doctor and tell them you and your child DESPERATELY NEED help and that you need to see a doctor right away. Have them do whatever tests are necessary (and keep doing them) until they find out what the problem is. Maybe search for a behavorial specialist on the internet, and if that isn't the problem, he or she can refer you to different type of specialist. Eventually they WILL find out what the problem is, and then you'll be able to get the help you and your child needs. DON'T give up. "
