Stop preaching! People react differently to meds. Maybe you just had a bad reaction OR maybe your just a depressed person in the first place.

I realise you are trying to stop others having a negative experience with medication. Seriously appreciate you're intentions, shows you are a caring young person.
I've had some severe adverse reactions to medications and like you I wanted to save others from my trauma. We all react different to treatment, so I shared my negative experiences only.
Better to just share you're experience with people.
Pleased that you're well-being has improved and hope you continue to improve.

morae13 is only 14 years of age and yes her statement is immature. She meant well. How about a more measured response, she could be fragile.

I seriously do NOT see what everyone is so concerned about with this thoughtful post. Morae is only giving her story, she is not preaching at all.......give her a break, she has interests at heart. I see much more in the other posts of dictatorialness than this initial post and feel rather angry about it..which, quite honestly, is very unusual for me. This is the first cross post I have ever posted on DS and I have been here for well over a year..:(

Well, I for one am all for solutions that involve as few meds as possible. I just don't trust all these new medications that are out there. I went to a counselor for depression and right away she prescribed something pretty new instead of something that's been around for awhile--like Prozac. I won't specifically drug bash here, but I was better off not taking the "new med".

Im really sorry. I had no Idea this might offend anyone. I am just sharing my experience. I know I am not a doctor but I have read alot of research. This support group is meant to help people not shoot them down. I was trying to do just that.

First of all, it SHOULD be the doctor's responsibility to make the patient aware of any possible side effects such as depression. When I started taking my Strattera, my doctor told me if I start feeling down or depressed or unusual at all to call immediately and stop taking it.
You were clearly not taken care of as well as you should be. To add to this, medicine has evolved very much since your situation began. ADD medications are very closely observed now.
My opinion is that when something like this happens, it is not the drug's fault, it is somebody's fault.
