5 Year old Diagnosed with ADHD

I am very new to forums but I am really having a hard time and am hoping for some support since I cant seem to find the help I am needing for myself and my daughter. A little background:My daughter has a medical condition called tuberous sclerosis which is where benign tumors grow on major organs such as brain, skin, kidneys, heart and sometimes lungs. She has had seizures since she was 2 1/2 and we now know why. She will have to have an MRI every year to make sure the Tumors and Tubers (tubers are specific to the condition) dont grow. She also has some small tumors on the skin called angiofibromas. They are barly noticable now but could get bigger and more distinct. They look like little spots of acne. We have had all of the medical scans and so far other than the brain and skin the rest of the body is clear. Which brings me to the recent diagnosis of ADHD. it was no surprise to me about her diagnosis because she has always been extreamly impulsive, hyper, over emotional, trouble sleeping, etc. The problem we are having is falling behind because the docs tell me that her learning issues are because she cant focus long enough to learn and are not cognitive due to the tuberous sclerosis. This is good news for me but we are struggling with medication now. We have tried Adderall and Concerta. When on Concerta she had a fit of "Rage" biting, hiting, screaming, hurting herself and others. We were done with that medication after 2 days and that was one day too long. Adderall works during the day and at night we have our meltdown. Irriatability, over emotional, hiting others and yelling at them. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do? I feel like I am at a catch 22 because of the learning issues. I dont know. She is a sweet silly kid and I have never seen her act like this (violent, and fit of rage). I feel like I am walking on egg shells with her because she could explode at any minute. Any advise or support you could give me would be great because it seems all you get from others is stares and criticism.

" Reading your post, your daughter perhaps needs a night sport....any forms of martial arts ,releases anxiety, builds confidence and with extra focus, perhaps she can sleep better.(the physical side of the sport is good too).....lots of praise and support, even if she ''gets it wrong''>the moves can be challenging, but worth a try...goodluck,:") "

" My 5 year old is diagnosed with Developmental Coordination Disorder along with ADHD. Many of her doctors have told us that they believe something neurological is going on, but with all the testing everything come back negative. We were told she is a child with a few wires crossed…like a black connected to a red. Hyperactivity and Focus are a HUGE issue in her daily life. She absolutely can not sit still. She is very far behind educationally…borderline learning impaired. We tried various forms of medications…we found most either made her have fits of rage, become zombie-like, or tons of tics. We finally realize that Focalin XR 5MG broken into 2 doses…one 7 am one 1 pm…worked best. Her dose was really just too high and Focalin has something in it to help control tics. Sometimes a very small dose can go a long way with a little child. It doesn’t solve our problems, but it does make our daily lives a little easier and she does cooperate a bit better. "
