Hi everyone, I was just wondering if this is ADD or ADHD. I'll describe my symptoms.............
1. I have trouble remembering things that were just said or saw. I have to keep going back and listenind, or reading what was just said word by word. 2. I tend to drift in and out of the world around me, sometime I drift so far off, that I can't even hear anything. 3. I can't stay in the same spot for long. I'm not all over the place, but I tend to scwirm in my chair alot. no more that I can thik of really, replies would be greatly apreciated!!! Posted on 05/25/08, 11:05 am |

Yes it sounds like ADD. ADD and ADHD are really the same thing except ADD is when you don't have predominant hyperactivity--but if you're like me, you can become easily hyper if around other hyper people.

The term 'ADD' is not officially used any longer according to the DSM-IV and DSM-IV-R. It was a term used in DSM-III and DSM-III-R to describe what is now deemed, 'ADHD-Inattentive Subtype'. For a diagnosis to be considered, at least 6 or more symptoms or behavioural indcators must be present for at least 6 months and must be inappropriate and disruptive for the developmental level. Meaning that since you are only describing 3 things, it's not very probable that you have ADHD and you might want to consider another source that could be causing these behaviours. Including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, bi-polar etc. All share similiar behaviours.
Hope that helps!
