Off meds during the summer?
Watch this

Does anyone else do this, my childrens dr said this was ok. I ask because my kids will be coming to stay with me for a month and the dr cannot give out more than a months script and is not certified in this state and cannot do their script(i have 2 with ADHD) and have it filled here. They will run out half way through the month,so they will be off meds for about 2 weeks.I also have to monitor their behavior, while they are off it.Does this sound right, im just going off what my ex tells me.

" We are takeing our son off his adhd meds for the summer unless he gets out of control. We are leaving him on the risperdal for bp though. (can't imagine how he would be off that!!) BUT if youre not sure about it call your kids dr. and see what he/she thinks. They may give you an extra 2 weeks since they will run out b-4 they get back home. "

" Some light summer reading that MAY allow you to keep them off the meds after summer is over:

" Hi i would call your childrens doc because i know the family doc and pediatrition and phsyc all say the same thing that you should not give your children a brake they need to be able to function all the time in life not just at school and it would be like telling a diabetic or asthmatic that they don't need there meds for the summer but i have heard of some docs doing that so i don't know just thought i would let you know what my childrens docs have to say about it! Good luck and i hope you have a wonderful month with your children! "

" take them to a doctor and show him the meds that they are on. You shouldn't take them off without a doctor knowing about it.

Okay--your ex told you to take 2 kids with adhd off their meds and monitor their behaivor??? fun summer. "
