Acupuncture for ADD

I am new to this site and I am loving all of the support I see. I am 28 and was diagnosed with ADD 9 years ago. After trying a lot of different medications, playing with dosages, having a lot of BAD reactions, I decided to do it on my own. I went off of my medication 3 years ago and 2 years ago, when things were getting a little crazy, I decided to try acupuncture. I've been going on and off for those 2 years, with varying degrees of result. Has anyone else utilized this method with any success?

" I'll be honest, about 10 years ago when things were really bad, I tried the cutting myself one time. It didn't do it for me. But, acupuncture is a holistic medicine. Cutting yourself is self mutilation. I've seen your posts on here before and I really see a person who needs friends, someone to talk to. Please don't compare my trying to get help and seek others who are looking for help as trying to find a way to hurt myself. That's not what this is. "

" um...i think you misunderstood- I'm relating it to self-injury because both work the same way: by setting off endorphines "

" Actually, he only does about 5 needles and they don't hurt. I found that the treatments worked for about a year but I'm starting to feel like it's wearing off. "

" No, I got one treatment a week for 3 weeks, then went to one a month. Now I only go when I'm feeling out of whack. "

" If the accupuncture gave you some help, have you thought of trying Biofeedback? I hear that it can work wonders too.

Accupuncture works for such long periods because it isnt setting off endorphines, it adjusts your body, realigning the "yin and yang" to the balanced state (im not sure how - via nerves / release of toxins within points of your body / who knows) allowing "qi" (vital energy) to flow through your meridians properly. ok - annoying big words - all i can say is google it.
