My 8 year old is currently on 10mg of Adderall and has been for about a year now. My doctor insists that we have to come in every 3 months for a check up since this is a controlled substance.
I have a co-worker who's step son is also on the same dose and he doesn't have to go for check ups every 3 months. Different doctors obviously. My question is, Is my doctor just milking me for the money for each appt or is it really a law that you have to have a check up every 3 months? thanks in advance Posted on 07/15/08, 12:07 pm |

I have to go in every mo for my adderall and Im and adult! I take mine as perscribed. The docs can only give 3 refills at one time. thats why you have to go in every 3 mo. Her doc may have her come in and pick up a new perscript every three mo as well just not an appointment.

Hi my children are on dexidrine but are going to go on adderall xr and they have gone every 2-3 months to the doc since they were diagnosed but luckily we don't have to pay here in Canada! Good luck and i don't think it is manditory to check that often but alot of doc just want to make sure everything is ok!
