" i'm 36, was diagnosed w/ ADD about 3 yrs ago.
what are you going through right now? have you read any books? are you going to a counselor to help? or coach? there's many helpful books on the subject. 'you mean i'm not lazy, crazy, or stupid?' is one. just look on amazon.com. i usually read the feedback to see if a book is good or not. ummm..
like dixie said--we're here to help you!

" Yea I have read a book about it and it was very helpful. But ppl who are going through the same thing are alot more help to me because you can get to liste to what that person goes through on a daily basis. I im an openminded person to any suggestions that helped you with what part ex. like anger, inattention, paying attention, finishing taskes, fowllowing up with ppl, doing things that I said I would do, what depresses you, and I can go on also. I have studied adhd for a while and know the differences in it and Bipolar and depression. But I would like to get some feed back. Im not on here everyday so it might take a little while for me to reply. "

" I am 22 (going on 23) and though I was diagnosed in grade 5 nothing was done about my ADHD until last year.
I take concerta...doesn't work for everyone but I feel like its helped alot. Its def not a miracle drug but its really helped me focus, not just in school but on daily life activites like having a conversation, not riding my bike into traffic because I wasnt paying attention, and getting things (cleaning, paying bills etc) DONE.

Getting things done is still my biggest problem, and where I run into the most trouble and frustrations. I don't ever use ADHD as an excuse but I find that ppl like my parents, and yes even my doctor still seem to doubt that ADHD actually exits and just think I'm lazy.

I just finished my undergrad degree (took me just over 5 yrs ugh..supposed to be 4) and it took me FOREVER to finish a final undergrad thesis...i got lots of extensions. I did finish it and do a good job though. I am starting my Masters in the fall and am pretty worried about the organizational skills involved in writing a 100 pg document spread out over 2 yrs.

Do any of you see a counsellor, therapist, or coach? I saw one a few years ago for depression but havent been able to find one that understands ADHD and is able to help me "

" I've read lots of books , like driven to distraction and others that can be found on amazon. I hope u have first been diagnozed and are able to see a counselor. Counselors can help, especially if u need to talk about something that is bottled up and u just need to vent. I'm still trying to find the correct combination of meds that I hope will help me with my inattentiveness, concentration, etc. It's a long haul, and I do get discouraged, but I just keep talking to my doctor and hopefully I will get on the right mix. good luck "
