The news is full of panic of consumers not spending, banks not lending, etc. Are your employers making noises about cutting back?

My husband is getting laid off October 26th due to the lack of budget in the county for which he is employed.

I work for the federal govt. One of my fellow officers has lost 50% of her 401K. I keep mine in a G fund..nonmarket. Thank God, people are hurting and so sad.We the people got screwed by greedy bankers. Shame on them!

I work in a hospital so theres no talk of cutbacks , shouldnt say this but we need all the help we have so we can treat those having heart problems trying to deal with this financial crisis !!!!!

i work for an agency that separated from the county govt so when the county was laying off lots of employees a few months ago (gee, we knew things were bad months ago!), we were safe. as for now, i have no idea.
my little poor me (literally! lol) rant for the day: can you believe i went through hoop after hoop last year during contract negotiations, invested my "bonus" in january instead of giving 1/2 to the govt and taking the pitiful rest of it in cash...and now i get nothing!
