Hi I'm Julie, Welcome to My Blog!

By Julie March 30, 2008 6:22pm

I just wanted to take a moment to welcome everyone to my blog! As I child that's one sentence that I could have never imagined saying! But who could have imagined (besides Doug) even a few years ago that a website such as DailyStrength could exist. A place to get peer support, comfort, information and new friends. Some have even come to refer to DailyStrength as part of their extended family. I have heard others who have said that this place saved their life. And although this was not the intended purpose of the site, some have found romance and even married people they met here. I've even heard rumors of groups meeting in person all around the country (maybe the world).

And when I think that there is nothing more that this site could possibly do, Doug finds a way to grow again. I am excited that he has included me in this next chapter. I have to admit someone else thought of my blog title: Musings of a Therapeutic Mind, but I really think it fits. My hope is to somehow incorporate my personal views and psychological opinions regarding the mental health issues that our members deal with daily. I'll also focus on gay & lesbian issues and current events that relate to mental health.

Your feedback is encouraged and in fact if you have a question or subject that you would like me to blog about please let me know. I look forward to this new journey and getting to know you all along the way!

  1. The site can be very helpful and supportive, but it can also be very dangerous-when some members take some things to far. The internet is an easy place to loose ones self, and you really do not know who is on the other side of this computer. Secondly, some members sometimes get too personal and involved with others.
