A Wedding, a Bris, a Graduation & a Funeral
All in one week.
This week I truly am experiencing the circle of life.
Tuesday, I attended a bris (Jewish Ritual Circumcision). A celebration of a life yet to come.
Wednesday, I attended a Graduation. A celebration for one of life's great achievements.
Thursday, I attended a funeral. A celebration of a life that has been concluded.
On Saturday, I attended a wedding. A celebration of love and partnership.
All of these events were for friends who I am extremely close too. It's so strange to celebrate so many different milestones in life's journey, all in a matter of days. This week I have laughed and I have cried. I have shed tears of joy and tears of sadness. I have congratulated friends and have consoled friends. Above all, I have experienced some really poignant life milestones and they have reminded me just how precious life is.
I will remember to kiss my kids and tell them how much I love them every day. I will remember to encourage my children in all that they do. I will remember to rejoice in all of life's achievements. I will remember why I fell in love with my husband and cherish our marriage. I will remember to express my love to all of my friends and family. I will remember to count life's blessings. And finally, I will try to remember to enjoy each and every day. Because life is so precious.

I understand weeks like that First my husband of 20 years passed away in April. While still dealing with that, his mother got very ill in aug. The day of my daughters baby shower she passed away. That was on a sat. We buried on Thur, 10 feet away from my husband. My daughter went into labor that night, so at 5:35 the next morning she gave birth to a healthy boy. That was a long 24 hours.

That is so true...it usually takes reminders such as these events to bring us back to what's truely important in our lives.
*reading your entry made me think how expensive your week must have been too! :)
